This year, Metro Manila Film Festival will be celebrating it’s 39th year of giving award to the eight Filipino film that will show off this December 25, 2013 till the first week of January 2014. In this event, no foreign film will be shown in the Philippine Theater nationwide. Giving way to the eight entries vying in some award on the said competition such as Best Actor, Best Actress, Best Feature and the Highest Grossing Film.
For this year competition, Robin Padilla will represent his movie “10,000 Hours” directed by Bb. Joyce Bernal. The movie was an action, drama thriller produce by Philippine Film Studio. Another entry for this year as Vice Ganda give smile for his “Girl, Boy, Bakla, Tomboy” with Ms. Maricel Soriano, and Joey Marquez. The film was directed by Wenn Deramas under the production of Star Cinema and Viva Film.
The third entry is “Kimmy Dora: Ang Kyimeng Prequel“. We all know that Kimi Dora is well-known comedy film that got two sequel. This year they enter the MMFF to give the third installment of the said film. This was Directed by Chris Martinez under the production of Spring Films, MJM Production, and Quantum Films. The film cast are Eugene Domingo and Sam Milby.
Forth in our list is “Pagpag: Siyam na Buhay” a horror, suspense romance film that under the production team-up of Star Cinema and Regal Films. The cast are the well known tandem of Kathryn Bernardo and Daniel Padilla. Directed by Franco Mortiz. This year, Regal Film did not put the 13th installment of Shake, Rattle and Roll instead create a new twisting horror movie to chill up your Christmas Holiday.
The remaining films are “My Little Bossing” starting Vic Sotto, Kris Aquino, Ryzza Mae Dizon and James “Bimby” Aquino-Yap. This was directed by Marlon Rivera under the production of Octo Arts Film, MZET, APT Entertainment and Kris Aquino Production. Bossing which is Mr. Vic Sotto is fully smiled saying that there is no fantasy film in this year competition and he’s proud working with Kris and the kids.
“Kaleidoscope World” is also one of the entry of this year competition under the production of Melchor Enterprise. This is a Romance Musical film. Another entry is “Pedro Calungsod: Batar Martir” directed by Francis O. Villacorta under HPI Synergy Groups and Wings Entertainment. Last is ER Ejercito‘s “Boy Golden” with KC Conception directed by Chito Rono under Viva Films. It is an Action Thriller film.
Can’t wait for the Christmas season to see this newly cinematic film that will uplift the Philippine movie scene.Which film will be the best? Well all of them I guessed but who among of them will stand out? Let’s see and wait.
